2010 Veedercrest Cabernet Sauvignon – North Coast

This crystal clear wine possesses a pure garnet color, which has initial notesof cherry. The top of the palate sensation is fruit forward dark cherry with a hintof blueberry. Side palate picks up the pleasing tang of a lemony citric acid, withraspberry overtones and light tannins at the back of the palate. This North Coastcabernet has little residual sugar. This wine pairs well with roasted chickens stuffedwith lemon and sage or roast duck with a blueberry or cherry glaze. It also pairswell with baked ham or roast pork.

Ron Fenolio is now the sole proprietor of Veedercrest. He has been part of a farming and winemaking family with heritage going back to the 1880’s in northern Italy, where his great grandfather grew merlot and pinot grigio grapes on the family farm in Friuli. The family immigrated to the United States in stages starting in 1907 and ending in 1920.
